What is “drop”?
The drop is how far your tablecloth hangs down from the tabletop to the sides. A longer drop feels more formal; a shorter drop is practical for everyday use and outdoors.
How to choose your drop
Quick recommendations

Tip: Shorter drops are easier to live with—no tugging, no catching on knees or chair arms. Longer drops are elegant but more likely to crease and catch the breeze.
How to measure your drop (30-second method)
- Decide the look (use the chart above).
- Check clearance with chairs and benches (make sure the drop won’t get trapped).
- Measure from the tabletop edge straight down the side to your chosen length.
Hems & seams: Our builder includes hem allowances automatically. With our double-width fabrics (~280 cm), most dining tables need no side seams.
Special situations & tips 
- Benches / built-ins: Keep the drop shorter on the seating side (e.g., 10–15 cm) to avoid catching knees; keep the long drop on the outer edges for the look.
- Outdoor wind: Choose 20–25 cm and consider tablecloth clips on very breezy patios.
- Placemat users: A 25–30 cm drop balances nicely with placemats and runners.
- Formal photos: For events, 45 cm or floor-length is classic.
- Children / pets: Shorter drops (20–25 cm) reduce tugging.
