Tenting & Ripblock

Built for Africa’s demanding climate, our Tenting & Ripblock range combines rugged 400 gsm ripstop canvas with agile 310 gsm tenting cloth – creating covers and tarps that stand up to sun, wind, and rain year after year.

A cross-hatch reinforcement grid halts tears in their tracks, delivering roughly 30 % more puncture resistance than plain-weave canvas. A low-bulk PU/fluorocarbon finish seals out water and speeds drying, while solution-dyed fibres, UV stabilisers, and built-in anti-rot agents lock in colour, strength, and seam integrity season after season.

From trailer tents and rooftop covers to pergola screens and heavy-duty tarpaulins, these textiles offer classic safari-canvas strength with modern convenience. Locally manufactured and sold under our Fabric Superstore brand, they carry decades of outdoor know-how and trusted after-sales support.

    Care Tips for Ripblock:

    • Clean off debris regularly – If your Ripblock is used in a permanent setup (e.g. lodge tents or fixed covers), We advise brushing away leaves, dust and bird droppings, then hosing the fabric with clean water.

    • Skip harsh chemicals – For stubborn marks, use a mild household soap; strong detergents or bleach can strip the water-repellent coating.

    • Rinse & dry completely – After washing, rinse until the runoff is clear and allow the canvas to air-dry fully before folding or storing to prevent mildew.

    • Seasonal inspection – Check tie-downs and seams each season; tighten or reinforce where the fabric may chafe on sharp edges for maximum service life.

    Weight 400 g/m²

    Care Tips for Tenting Canvas

    • Brush & Rinse Regularly
Sweep off dust, leaves, and bird droppings with a soft brush, then hose the canvas with clean water to prevent staining and mildew build-up.
    • Use Mild Soap Only
For stubborn marks, scrub gently with a sponge and a weak solution of lukewarm water plus neutral household soap. Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, or solvents—they strip the water-repellent finish.
    • Dry Completely Before Storage
Always let the fabric air-dry fully, preferably in shade, before folding or rolling. Storing canvas while damp encourages rot and mildew.
    • Reproof Every 2–3 Years
Restore water beading by applying a canvas-compatible DWR (durable water-repellent) spray once performance starts to wane—especially after deep cleans.
    • Inspect Seams & Tie-Downs Seasonally
Check stitch lines, eyelets, and webbing for wear. Reinforce or replace areas that chafe on sharp corners to extend service life.
    • Store in a Cool, Ventilated Space
When not in use, keep the canvas loosely rolled in a breathable bag away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.

Follow these simple steps and your Tenting Canvas will keep its strength, colour, and waterproof performance season after season.
